Low Cost Six-Room Dwelling

Low Cost Six-Room Dwelling
For a modest little home, nicely arranged and of good appearance,
nothing could be better than this story -and- ahalf frame dwelling.
The width is 24 feet, the length 36 feet. There are six rooms,
three on each floor.
On the first floor are parlor, 14 by 17 feet 6 inches, and dining
room, 13 feet 6 inches by 14 feet. These rooms connect by means
of double sliding doors. A three-window bay lights each room. The
kitchen is well away from the other rooms, yet is arranged to save
steps. It is a small kitchen, as preferred by most housekeepers
these days. The pantry is of good size, and there is also a large
lighted closet off the dining room.
Just in front of the kitchen there is a little back hall with stairs
leading down to a grade entrance and to the cellar. On the second
floor are three well lighted bedrooms and the bath-room.
One thing the women folks all like about this house is the closets.
There are five of them on the second floor and three on the first
floor. They seem to be placed every time just where a closet is
most convenient.
Very practical six-room, story-and-a-half cottage. Size 24 by 36
feet. An economical house to build. Design
No. 6539L.
